Our family literacy program: Strengthening generations.
The Family Literacy Program serves parents and their children during the school year.
The program benefits the entire family by improving the English Language and parenting skills of the adults as they gain a better understanding of the expectations of the school system and the community, and learn how to be more engaged in their children’s education and development.
Parents will be involved in ESL classes, as well as activities to sharpen their organizational and critical thinking skills. Lesson plans focus on vocabulary, language functions and content of themes and activities identified in the general curriculum. These activities include library visits, story times and field trips as well as Parenting and PACT (Parent and Child Together) activities. Children are enrolled in the Boys & Girls Club and will receive homework help and enjoy activities and programs at the club.
Registration remains open for 2024-25. Click below to sign up.
